Welcome to the 2003/04 season and to the first edition of FOCUS.

The aim of this newsletter is to provide information about forthcoming events, to reflect on those that the club has already enjoyed and for you to share your news, views and experience. With this newsletter you should also receive a programme for 2003/04; 2002/03 Competition Results; Competition Rules; Competition Classification; the Chairman's letter and the tea rota.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are now due, £20 for individual members or £34 for family membership. Thanks to Peter Lordan for the artwork.

New Classifications for Club Competitions
Tim Harding has already explained that there will be new categories for club competitions this season. The categories are as follows:-
CLUB : ADVANCED : PREMIER

See attached sheet for confirmation of your class.

Summertime Special
Thank you to Peter and Maryon Lordan for allowing use of their beautiful garden for the summer party and for arranging such good weather! It was a very enjoyable evening.

Programme Highlights
3 September 2003
The first meeting of the 2003/04 season, a chance to catch up on gossip and admire holiday pictures. Ven Dodge is making a guest appearance.

17 September 2003

Dr Brian Most "A Love of Landscape".
Dr Most visited us in the 2002/03 season and those who were unable to make it missed a treat. His use of light is stunning.

1 October 2003
Open print competition.

15 October 2003
A fun evening, general knowledge quiz arranged by Mike Saunders.
Closing date for pictures to be entered in the exhibition at Compton.

25/26 October 2003
Exhibition at Compton Village Hall with Art Society, prints only. Hanging fee £2 per picture. Exhibition opens at 10.00 a.m.

29 October 2003
Practical Evening - Portraits
Don't forget your camera, tripod and film. The Club will provide lighting and a model.

5 November 2003
Slide competition - Reflections
