A rather belated Happy New Year.

I recently enjoyed an aerial photography flight and had written about it but there was so much else to put in, it will have to wait! However, if you would like the details, I would be happy to supply them.

Christmas Meal
Many thanks to Jean Sweeting for organising the Christmas meal at The Winterton Arms. It was a very enjoyable evening.

The One That Got Away

The One That Got Away by Peter Lordan
We lunched in a Trattoria in Trento. Later the woman with a monosyllabic husband who'd also been in the restaurant and never previously spoken to us asked, "Did you see the three angels in the corner?"
"Fraid not", was the reply.
"They left on scooters", she said.
"Vespas?"
"Sort of"

That's another one/three that got away.

Review
The Club continues to do well in the SPA competition, having beaten Woking, Reigate and Dorking to win a place in the quarter final.

The next round takes place at Crawley on 29th March 2004.
At the Inter-Club competition against Ludshott on 21st January, entries were limited to one slide and one print per person, giving a much wider spread of entries. The Judge, Simon Reay, did ponder aloud whether David Hampson's "Follow My Leader" was a composition shot! This was another successful evening for Godalming, winning both the print and slide sections.

The Club visited Cranleigh on 5th February for the Four Clubs competition, against Cranleigh, Haslemere and Midhurst. Unfortunately, Midhurst were unable to attend. Godalming came third in the print section and second in the slide section.

Fourteen members braved treacherous, icy conditions to attend the Club Night on 28th January when David Moxon showed slides from his recent trip to New Zealand, he undertook long walks, sea kayaking and faced mosquitoes to bring us the best selection of images. David Hampson gave virtual tour of the Falkland Islands, where the penguins outnumber the inhabitants.
Thanks to the two Davids for an excellent evening.

Following on from the Club Night in October, does anyone have prints for our young model, Kerry? If so, please pass them to Philippa Davies who will ensure Kerry receives them safely.
