Godalming Photographic Club recently competed in the annual SPA Inter-Club Print Competition, which was held on 24th November 2018 at East Horsley Village Hall.
The main event included an open competition, with each club entering 16 prints, and a nature competition, with each club entering 8 prints. Following the competition, the leading two clubs are invited to represent the SPA at the national PAGB inter-club print competition in Blackburn next year.
Three members were there to show their support and see GPC win the open competition for the third year running. The club scored a total of 194 points, ahead of Richmond and Twickenham Photographic Society in second with 187 points, and Molesey Photographic Club in third with 186 points.
The Best Individual Print award for the open competition was given to Graham Johnston for ‘Maro Itoje about to Score‘. No prints scored the maximum score of 15, but this was considered the best of several prints that scored 14.
In the nature competition, GPC came in third place behind Bookham Camera Club and Epsom Camera Club. David Hughes won the Best Individual Nature print award with ‘Ermine in Full Flight‘ which scored the maximum amount possible of 15, beating another print which also scored 15.
We were very pleased that several members who were selected to represent the club for the first time also scored well in both competitions.
